W.T. Clarke Middle School students in the East Meadow School District recently held their annual Soup-er Bowl food drive, collecting more than 100 pounds of nonperishable food items for Island Harvest, a nonprofit established in 1992 to end hunger and reduce food waste on Long Island.
On the day of collection, students were encouraged to wear their favorite team jersey or Clarke spirit-wear as they donated items such as soup, pasta, cereal and snacks for those in need.
